Donna is a clinical midwife with two daughters; one conceived via IVF using donor sperm & one conceived using a donated embryo. Her own fertility journey combined with a long career as a midwife showed Donna how very challenging pathways to parenthood can be & also the amazing lengths people go to in order to create their families. So, she felt compelled to “pay it forward” given Donna was only able to have her own family because of selfless help from others.
Her IPs had been trying to create a family for 9 years & had endured a lot of unsuccessful IVF & early pregnancy losses. They had exhausted all other options apart from surrogacy when Donna offered to carry. She conceived on the 3rd embryo transfer & their healthy daughter was born in December 2023. Donna tries to be a strong advocate for raising awareness around surrogacy in the hope more women may consider sharing their uterus.
